Hey Adventurers, what’s next?

Hey Adventurers! Crazy to think but it’s been one year since I started this Open Atlas venture! I want to say thank you to everyone who reads my posts for encouraging me to stoke this fire. I am excited to say that Open Atlas is getting some much needed changes to propel this adventure ever forward! I now officially have openatlasblog.com where you can visit my site and I have ideas that I can’t wait to share with you.

My first big idea is to begin a theme of blog posts where I ask fellow adventurers to tell me a story to share other perspectives of adventure and to inspire myself and all of you! “Where have your shoes been” and “Tell me about an adventure…” will hopefully gain some pretty incredible results to build a greater community; it’s also a chance to just revel in the awesomeness of other human beings.

This blog sort of started on a whim. I knew I liked writing and I loved traveling so I figured I’d create a blog and promote it on Instagram and instantly become famous. Kidding… while that would be lovely I am not ready to do this full time nor do I expect that sort of thing to just happen to me. I knew I was going to be producing a post a month but I never imagined how hard that would actually be. I am proud to say though that this year of creating and running Open Atlas has made me more invigorated to get a little more serious about this and see where it goes!

Another idea I had was to get feedback and responses from all of you! Whether this is the first post you’re reading or you’ve been with me from the beginning I want to know what you want to see! Granted I cannot make everyone’s wishes come true but if there was a blog post that spoke to you for a specific reason and you’d like to see more like that then let me know! If there’s something I haven’t done yet you’d like to see me try then let me know! Basically, I want to establish an open line of communication between me and all of you because adventure is about sharing the stories not just me writing into the internet void.

Looking back I’ve covered 3 countries: Italy, China, and the United States. By the end of my life I hope to have traveled to every country in the world so hopefully that list grows very soon. Looking forward I will be in the United States through the remainder of 2020 but will kick off 2021 by traveling to Ghana! From there I will spend my spring semester in Vietnam and hopefully spend time in surrounding countries as well.

Thank you adventurers for reading and inspiring me and don’t forget to comment or email me with ideas! I can’t wait to see where this next adventure takes us!

Open that atlas and share those stories!
